FVSD Textbook & Materials Adoption - Community Input

November 13, 2020

Dear FVSD Community,

During the 2019-2020 school year, Fountain Valley School District (FVSD) piloted new materials in the areas of TK-5th and 6th-8th grade science, and 6th-8th history.  In selecting the pilot programs, teams of teachers from all school sites and grade levels worked with coordinators from the Orange County Department of Education to select two vendors from the California State Board of Education approved materials list.  The first set of materials was piloted October, 2019 through January, 2020 and the second set of materials was piloted January, 2020 through April, 2020.  In the spring of last year, each team then reached consensus on one selection, and due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a digital pilot of the selected materials was extended through December, 2020.

As part of FVSD Board Policy and Administrative Regulation 6161.1(a), we are conducting our community input process beginning today Friday, November 13th through Monday, December 14th.  In support of the safety considerations due to COVID-19, we are proving both an in-person and virtual option for our community to preview the selected materials.

Below is a chart with links to sign-up for an in-person reservation, and the links and password to access the virtual preview.
