• Read First Day Jitters
• Tell a family member some of the story elements:
• Who was the main character?
• Where did the story take place?
• What was the problem and how was it solved?

• Read any book of choice for 20 minutes.

• What is the picture about?
• Explain to a family member what the main idea of the story is.  How do you know?
• Practice your sight words at home or play this fun game. Sight Word Smash! 
• Read any book of choice for 20 minutes.

Week 3 - Day 3

• What is the genre of this book?  Why?  Which things from the story could and/or could not really happen?  Are there any other books you have that are the same genre?
• Practice your sight words at home or play this fun game. Sight Word Popcorn!
• Read any book of choice for 20 minutes.

Week 3 - Day 4

• Listen to Action Verbs Song
• Identify action verbs
• Complete the sentence with an action verb to match the picture
• The author uses many verbs (action words) in this story to describe what Sara Hartwell does. Some of those verbs include: 
• pulled
• stumbled
• trudged 
• walked 
• slumped 

• Make a list of any 5 verbs you can think of and write them down. Try acting them out with family!
