Health Services

The Fountain Valley School District recognizes that students and staff have the right to a safe and secure campus. Each school in the District is staffed with a health assistant. Four district nurses oversee the medical needs of students within our CDC/preschool programs, our elementary campuses, and our middle schools. Annually, Kindergarten, 2nd, 5th, and 8th grade students undergo vision and hearing screening by qualified screening nurses. Please contact your child's school with any questions.

Immunizations

Fountain Valley SD is set to comply with the new requirements of SB277, which requires all students enrolling after January 1, 2016, to have complete immunizations before entering school. This bill eliminates the personal belief exemption and requires full immunization or medical exemption as the only option.

Starting January 1, 2021, all medical exemptions for school entry must be issued through CAIR-ME https://cair.cdph.ca.gov/exemptions/home. Parents can create an account and log in to CAIR-ME to submit a request for a medical exemption. Next, your child's doctor can complete the medical exemption in CAIR-ME and print a copy for you to give to your child's school.
