Meals for Children When School Is Out
Look for a summer nutrition program near you!
California’s summer nutrition programs can help feed your children by serving healthy lunches during the summer months. These summertime meal sites are located throughout California.
Look for a site near you by visiting the California Department of Education Food Program Web page at or by contacting The National Hunger Hotline at 866-3hungry or 877-8hambre.
On the Web page, you will find a map of California. Select your county link and see the list of sites serving free meals as a part of the summer nutrition program in your area. The list includes the name, address, and telephone number for each site so you can call for additional information.
The summer nutrition programs serve all children through age eighteen. The programs also operate activities that are safe and fun. Children receive complete, wholesome meals, and parents receive help in stretching their food dollars.
USDA is an equal opportunity provider and employer.
