2nd and 3rd Trimester Grade & Reporting Periods

During this unique time in our students' education journey, FVSD is committed to delivering an engaging instructional program.  We understand this looks and feels differently than a full-day, in-class model; however, we also understand this time is critical to help build on previous learnings in order for our students to be successful as they move to the next grade level.  Ultimately, we understand that a student's learning is not only about being evaluated on how well they complete an assignment/project/assessment, but that it is a life-long commitment built on a series of lessons, experiences, and interactions.

As we look to record overall student engagement during Distance Learning for the 3rd trimester, we will continue to maintain the mindset that students will be held harmless due to school dismissal as the result of the COVID-19 pandemic.  This means no student shall be penalized for a lack of engagement nor academic performance during school dismissal.  Additionally, a student's performance during the 3rd trimester will not prevent a student from promoting to the next grade level.  We understand these are very unique times, and appreciate everyone's continued focus on our students' overall mental health needs as we engage them in our Distance Learning program.

Below is information regarding the recording of your child's 2nd trimester grades, and the process for how we will report overall student engagement during Distance Learning for 3rd trimester.
