Week 4 - Day 1

  • What do you already know about space? What do you know about astronauts? 
  • Read What is a SpaceWalk?
  • What genre is this text? How do you know?
  • Readers have questions before, during and after reading. List any questions you may have.

  • When on a spacewalk, astronauts use safety tethers to stay close to their spacecraft. Tethers are like ropes. One end is hooked to the spacewalker. The other end is connected to the vehicle. The safety tethers keep astronauts from floating away into space.
