  • Read about how geographers have organized the study of geography into the Five Themes of Geography (Location, Place, Human-Environment Interaction, Movement, Region).
  • Watch the Five Themes of Geography video for specific details about each of the five themes. 
  • How would you describe your hometown using the Five Themes of Geography?

  • Read the Archaeology Article and Images to learn about what archaeologists do to find out about other cultures. Also, examine the images of features and artifacts to get an idea of what the work of an archaeologist is like.
  • Watch this National Geographic video about Early Civilization and Belief to see archaeologists explore how the birth of farming and the birth of religion may be connected.
