- Read this story, and take its quiz when you finish. As you read, think about the elements of the plot of the story. What is the setting, who is the main character, and what is the conflict the character faces? How is the conflict resolved?

- POINT OF VIEW: This story is told from the third person POV. How would the story change if it were told from first person POV with Bobby as the narrator? Or if the narrator was one of “the invaders”?

Writing: Writing From a Different POV
- In your summer writing journal, take a short section of “The Long Night” and rewrite it from a different character’s POV.
- You could choose to make Bobby a first person narrator, or choose to tell the story from the perspective of any of the other characters.
- Be creative and have fun!
