Principal Chris Christensen to lead Newland School and Principal Chris Mullin to lead Tamura School

When asked about his thoughts, Mr. Christensen shared, “The last 11 years at Courreges have been incredibly rewarding, filled with lots of successes, wonderful memories, and so many fun & engaging moments. I appreciate the Cougars for their support through the years, and I know they will experience continued success moving forward. I am excited about this new chapter in my professional career. Having worked in FVSD for the past 21 years, I know that Newland Elementary stands out for its high standards of academic excellence, collaborative school culture, and tremendously supportive parent community. I am thrilled to join and become the next leader of this amazing FVSD school!”

Mr. Mullin added, “I have truly enjoyed every day that I went to work at Newland. I am thankful for the opportunity to have served the outstanding Newland community for the past nine years, and it will always hold a special place in my heart. I am excited to be named the new principal of Tamura Elementary. Both growing up and working within the Fountain Valley School District, I have always known Tamura to be a school of high academics, strong community ties, and wonderful traditions. I look forward to guiding Tamura in the days, weeks, and years ahead!"

In looking forward to next year, FVSD is confident that all of our schools are prepared to begin the 2022-2023 school year under the guidance of strong leaders. We are fortunate to have talented administrators leading dedicated teachers and committed classified staff, ensuring that our students and families will enjoy the best possible educational experience for years to come.
