“Teaching is a demanding profession that requires constant innovation, and we are proud to honor these teachers who have demonstrated excellence as well as deep caring for their students day in and day out,” said Fountain Valley Superintendent Marc Ecker.
Fountain Valley Rotary sponsors many activities within the community but this event is one of their favorites. President Gary Hickman notes the importance of this event, explaining that it is an opportunity to recognize some of the best of the teaching profession and the wonderful work they do for our community and children. The event, being held at the Fountain Valley School District office, is made possible by generous donations from SchoolsFirst FCU, Rainbow Environmental Services, Kellogg Products, Fountain Valley Educational Foundation, Orange Coast Memorial Hospital, Fountain Valley Rotary, and Home Depot.
“High quality teaching is important not just to schools, but to our entire community,” observed Fountain Valley Assistant Superintendent Anne Silavs. “ It is part of what makes Fountain Valley a great place to live. We want to thank the Rotary Club and the many donors who make this recognition breakfast possible, as well as Mayor Vo, the City Council, and other community leaders.”
Mayor Michael Vo, members of the Fountain Valley City Council, and members of the Fountain Valley Rotary, will join principals, district staff and family members in honoring these teachers who represent the “best of the best” of their profession.
Ecker continued, "This is a special event because our excellent teachers, the teachers of the year at all of the school sites will be honored. This recognition within our city demonstrates the importance of public education, excellent instruction and exemplary schools to the entire fabric of the community. Attending this event will be the Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem of the City of Fountain Valley. It is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Fountain Valley and hosted by the Fountain Valley School District. Our Foundation will be represented and our business community will as well. The Teacher Recognition Breakfast ties exemplary schools to a high quality of life within the city that we live and work."
