Fountain Valley Schools Foundation Names 2015-16 Officers, Approves Funds for Music & Robotics


Fountain Valley, CA, May 21, 2015: The Fountain Valley Schools Foundation announced its 2015-16 slate of officers and authorized donations to the Fountain Valley School District in support of elementary music and middle school robotics.

Judy Edwards, retired FVSD board member, will serve a second year as President. She will be assisted by Eduardo Higuchi and Chelsea Sievers as Co-VP’s for Events, and by Bonnie Hanson and David Truong as Co-VP’s for Outreach. Minnie Blanco was re-elected Treasurer, and Tom Antal is the Secretary. 

“The Fountain Valley Schools Foundation provides essential funding to assist the school district to expand and enhance its curriculum and educational options for our community’s students,” said Judy Edwards, Foundation President. “Our board voted additional funding for the purchase of instruments and supplies to expand elementary school music, and to provide updates to the robotics kits being used at each of the three middle schools.”

Founded in 1982 as the Fountain Valley Educational Foundation, the organization changed its name last year to better reflect is focus on supporting the schools and students of the Fountain Valley School District. The school district, founded in 1898, is comprised of 10 schools serving over 6,300 students in Fountain Valley and Huntington Beach. The Fountain Valley School District receives one of the lowest amounts of per pupil funding from the state of all school districts in Orange County.
