Week 3 - Day 1

Be sure to write your rhyming words in your journal.  Use your neatest writing.  The letters should be lowercase.

Week 3 - Day 2

  • Think of a time that gave you the jitters.  Where were you?  Who were you with?  What happened.  Write a narrative story describing the experience.  Use your home journal or If needed, click and print this Lined Paper.

Be sure to illustrate.  Please encourage your child to write sentences using capitals, correct spacing, punctuation, and neat printing.

Week 3 - Day 3

  • In your journal, or use the paper to write sentences about what happened during each part of the story and illustrate:
    • Beginning
    • Middle
    • End 

      Remember, good readers often re-read text First Day Jitters


  • Watch Antonym video
  • Match antonyms to pictures
  • Think of the antonyms for these words and write them in your journal:
    • little
    • ugly
    • short
    • straight
    • young
  • Go ahead and illustrate the words that you wrote.

  • Think about Sara Hartwell and the kind of character she is. How would you describe her? Use at least 2 details from the story to support your response. Write your response in your journal. If needed, click and print this Lined Paper.

Remember to write sentences using capitals, correct spacing, punctuation, and neat printing.

  • Does the word end with a consonant blend?

  • Read the poem and see if you are able to find:
    • Rhyming words
    • Words that begin with a consonant blend
    • Words that end with a consonant blend
  • Have an adult help you make the recipe and ENJOY!
