California State Standards

Educational Standards

Educational standards describe what students should know and be able to do in each subject from kindergarten through high school. In California, the State Board of Education determines these standards for all students. These standards are designed to promote the highest levels of achievement by clearly defining the knowledge, concepts, and skills needed for success in each grade, and ultimately, in college and careers.
