Middle School Math
The FVSD middle school math department integrates McGraw-Hill California Math and the Irvine Math Project to develop strong procedural and conceptual mastery in middle school math. With the implementation of the Irvine Math Project curriculum, students are engaged in concrete, hands-on, research-based, discovery activities aligned to the California State Mathematics Standards. Each grade level has developed standards-based pacing guides, and unit plans, in order to meet the needs of our students. Additionally, the middle school math team collaborated to create common unit assessments that allow for data analysis to guide future instruction. We are constantly searching for ways to refine and revisit our lessons to reach all learners.
