Visual and Performing Arts

Welcome to Visual and Performing Arts!

Our mission as educators is to inspire creativity and knowledge in students. The ability to create and appreciate the arts is essential for personal and academic growth. The Fountain Valley School District (FVSD) is committed to providing students with a wide range of opportunities in the visual and performing arts, encouraging imagination, exploration, and expression.

22nd Annual District Art Show

FVSD proudly presents the 22nd Annual District Art Show. This event will feature student artwork and is open to the public on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, from 4 PM to 7 PM at the District Central Office. Join us for interactive art stations, live performances from our Middle School Vocal Music program, photo booths, food trucks, and more.

Annual Monster Concert

The Annual Monster Concert is an exciting event showcasing instrumental music from over 400 orchestra and band students across elementary, middle, and high school programs. The 2025 concert took place on April 30th, in partnership with the Fountain Valley School Foundation, Fountain Valley High School, and the Arts and Learning Conservatory. We look forward to the 2025 concert next spring.

Proposition 28: Arts and Music Funding Guarantee

On November 8, 2022, California voters approved Proposition 28: The Arts and Music in Schools Funding Guarantee and Accountability Act (AMS).  The measure requires the state to establish an ongoing program supporting arts instruction.  Each school is required to submit an annual board-approved report to be posted on the school district’s and Department of Education’s websites that details the types of arts education programs funded by the program; the number of full-time equivalent teachers, classified personnel, and teaching aides; the number of pupils served; and the number of school sites providing arts education programs with such funds.
