The Fountain Valley School District encourages students to attend their neighborhood “home” school as determined by the student’s home address. If you are unsure of your child’s home school, please use our School Locator found at the link below, for assistance. School Locator Site
If you are a resident of Fountain Valley School District and you are interested in attending a school in FVSD that is not your home school, please complete an Intra-District Transfer Form and turn it in to your home school with proof of residency documents attached.
If you are a resident of another district, but would like to attend a school in the Fountain Valley School District, please go to your home district and complete an Inter-District Transfer Request. If approved, the transfer request will be sent to FVSD. You will be notified by FVSD if your transfer is accepted based on available space at your requested school site. The District begins accepting transfer requests March 1st for the following school year. Transfer requests for the current year are accepted on an on-going basis.
Interdistrict transfer agreements are valid only for the school year granted; the agreement expires at the end of each school year and must be renewed annually.
Approval is subject to space availability in the district, at a school site, grade level or within a specific program. An approved transfer into the District may not result in attendance at the site requested.
This agreement may be revoked at any time by the District for the following reasons:
If you are a resident of FVSD and would like to attend a school in another district, please complete the FVSD Inter-District Transfer Request and submit it to the Fountain Valley School District Business Office.

In the event a transfer is denied, parents have the right to appeal to the Orange County Board of Education within 30 days of the denial.
Failure of a parent to adhere to the timelines established by the District shall be deemed an abandonment of the transfer request.
