FVSD welcomes Carolyn Hunter, Lisa Tanita and Kerry Riccio Aguero to FVSD Family, congratulates Erin Bains on new role

Carolyn Hunter joins us as the Director, Special Education. Ms. Hunter brings with her more than 15 years of experience in education, having served as a special education administrator for the past eight years. She has a passion for working with all parties in order to find solutions that are of the most benefit to students. In addition, Ms. Hunter is adept at building relationships through collaboration with families and staff.

 

“It is an honor to join the FVSD Family,” noted Ms. Hunter. “I look forward to the chance to work with our amazing educators in service to our students and their families as we continue the tradition of excellence in the District.”

 

In addition, we welcome Lisa Tanita to the role of Principal at Courreges Elementary School. Ms. Tanita joins FVSD from the South Bay where she has served as principal and assistant principal. Ms. Tanita has dedicated more than 35 years to education, serving with a passion for her students to be inspired, challenged and supported to their fullest potential.

 

“I am excited to join the Fountain Valley School District,” said Lisa Tanita. “I am thrilled to work with the Courreges community, collaborating to make a difference in the lives all students. I look forward to getting to know our students, staff and families.”

 

Moreover, Kerry Riccio Aguero comes to FVSD from Manhattan Beach Unified School District where she served as assistant principal. She will serve as the principal of Fulton Middle School. Throughout Ms. Riccio Aguero’s more than 20 years in education, she has dedicated her career to ensuring the success of all students through a commitment to collaboration and high expectations for herself as well as those around her.

 

“I am thrilled for the opportunity to be a part of the FVSD Family,” explained Ms. Riccio Aguero. “I am eager to partner with our staff, families and community to build upon the great work at Fulton.”

 

Finally, Erin Bains, former principal at Fulton Middle School, has been promoted to Director, Student Services and Safety. Ms. Bains has been a part of the FVSD Family, working effectively to collaborate in administrative roles for the past 16 years. She is adept at building community and creating systems to support our students, staff and families.

 

“I am excited to continue my journey with the Fountain Valley School District in this new position,” Ms. Bains noted. “I am honored to work with our ten school sites, as well as our counselors and nurses, as we provide support for all of our students and staff.”

 

Superintendent Katherine Stopp shared, “We are excited to welcome these remarkable educators to the District. Each brings with them a wealth of experience in ensuring successful outcomes for all students and a collaborative approach to building community. We are fortunate to have Ms. Hunter, Ms. Tanita, Ms. Riccio Aguero and Ms. Bains join us in their new roles and look forward to having them join our leadership team!”
