In a tradition fostered by our current Mayor, who previously served as a Trustee on the FVSD School Board, local middle schools are invited to provide the Council and the public with a "state of the school" update from a student perspective.
The students presented a comprehensive look at life on campus, narrating a slide deck that highlighted:
-
Academics & Electives: Showcasing the rigor and variety of their daily classes.
-
Campus Culture: Sharing the fun behind "Rockin' Lunch" and school dances.
-
Leadership & Service: Detailing the impact of PAL (Peer Assistance Leadership) activities and various campus clubs.
-
Athletics: Celebrating the "Sports Life" that keeps Fulton active.
Speaking in front of city leadership is no small feat, and we want to recognize the students who expertly handled the microphone: Melisa Balat, Joshua Chao, Iyla Dhaka, Sophia Doan, Grace Kawaguchi, Maya Nguyen, Laura Orinion, Khiem Pham, Tad Phan, Megan Truong, and Brylei Vo.
These presentations offer a wonderful opportunity for our students to practice public speaking while ensuring our city leaders stay connected to the youngest members of our community. Thank you to Fulton’s ASB advisors, Principal Jenny Salberg and Assistant Principal Molly Kuykendall, for preparing these students so well!
