Connected and Inspired: FVSD Staff Gather for Annual District Kick-off Celebration

Honoring 150 Years of Educational Excellence

The annual gathering serves as the single time during the school year when the district's entire workforce—including teachers, office personnel, instructional aides, custodians, maintenance teams, and administrators—comes together under one roof. The outdoor breakfast at the Gisler Bowl provided a warm opportunity for colleagues to reconnect after summer break, share stories, and welcome new team members to the district.

Following the morning reception, staff transitioned next door to Shoreline Church’s auditorium for the main program. In her convocation speech, Dr. Stopp reflected on the district’s rich history while setting a clear, inspiring direction for the future. She emphasized that while teaching methods and technologies evolve, FVSD’s core mission remains unchanged: promoting academic excellence, mastery of basic skills, responsible citizenship, and a lifelong desire to learn.

Celebrating Milestone Years of Service

A key highlight of the morning was the celebration of staff members who have dedicated significant portions of their careers to Fountain Valley students. Colleagues cheered as team members reaching 15, 20, 25, 30, and 35 years of service were called to the stage to receive recognition for their enduring commitment and loyalty.

Guided by Our Core Values

Dr. Stopp concluded the event by reminding staff of the four core values that define the Fountain Valley School District community:

  • ALL Students, Staff, and Families: Ensuring every member of our school community feels valued, respected, and supported.

  • Highest Expectations: Striving for excellence in academic achievement and personal growth.

  • Commitment to Lifelong Learning: Encouraging continuous growth and curiosity for both students and staff.

  • Being a Good Teammate: Working collaboratively across schools, departments, and homes to uplift one another.

Energized by shared purpose and strong community connections, the FVSD team left the convocation ready to open school doors and welcome students back for an exceptional year ahead.
