The production features strong ties to the FVSD family. The lead role of the Phantom is played by Antonio Lopez, son of Tamura Elementary third-grade teacher Phil Lopez. Additionally, Talbert Middle School alumnus Luke Martucci takes the stage as Ubaldo Piangi, the opera's lead Italian tenor and stage partner to Carlotta. Seeing familiar district connections in prominent roles offered extra inspiration for the young singers in attendance.
