Insurance Benefits coordinates and administers district-wide insurance plans consisting of Medical, dental, Vision, and Life, as well as a multitude of voluntary plan options. Employees working a minimum of 20 hours per week are eligible to receive insurance benefits through Fountain Valley School District. We currently offer medical benefits through CalPERS, dental benefits through Delta Dental, and vision benefits through VSP.
In addition to these plans, FVSD also offers an employer-sponsored Term Life plan through MetLife in the amount of $40,000, as well as an employer-sponsored Employee Assistance Plan (EAP). Management and Confidential employees also receive an employer-sponsored Long Term Disability (LTD) plan in the amount of $5,000.

Every year, Open Enrollment begins early-September and runs through early-October, for an effective date of January 1st. The Insurance Benefits department assists employees through this process to ensure a smooth transition to the new insurance plan year.
