Insurance Benefits

Insurance Benefits coordinates and administers district-wide insurance plans consisting of medical, dental, vision, and life insurance and many voluntary plan options.  Employees working at least 20 hours per week are eligible to receive insurance benefits through Fountain Valley School District.  We currently offer medical benefits through CalPERS, Delta Dental, and vision benefits through VSP.

 

In addition to these plans, FVSD also offers an employer-sponsored Term Life plan through MetLife for $50,000 and an employer-sponsored Employee Assistance Plan (EAP).  Management and Confidential employees also receive an employer-sponsored Long Term Disability (LTD) plan for $5,000.

Every year, Open Enrollment begins in early September and runs through early October for an effective date of January 1st.  The Insurance Benefits department assists employees through this process to ensure a smooth transition to the new insurance plan year.
