New TK/Kindergarten Welcome Events: Thursday, February 19, at 1:30 p.m. at each of our seven elementary schools. Please use our school locator to determine which school is your school of residence based on your home address.
Transitional Kindergarten (TK)
Transitional Kindergarten (TK) serves as a bridge between preschool and kindergarten for children who turn 4 on or before September 1, 2026, for the 2026-27 school year. It is the first part of a two-year kindergarten program designed to lay a strong foundation for success in school. FVSD's TK program supports children in developing the academic, social, and emotional skills they need to thrive in kindergarten and beyond. This program is a full-day program.
Kindergarten
Kindergarten is available for children who turn 5 on or before September 1, 2026. This program provides a rigorous learning experience driven by California State Standards. FVSD's kindergarten classrooms provide a structured setting with both whole-group and small-group instruction. Teachers focus on differentiating instruction to meet each child's individual needs. FVSD's kindergarten is also a full-day program.
